Family fun weekend filled with all things Halloween! Contests, pumpkin carving, Halloween movies, trick-or-treating, and so much more. It’s going to be SPOOKTACULAR!
- 830am Juice & Donuts – office porch
- 10am Scavenger Hunt – cards located outside the front office (we have two options of scavenger hunt cards – easy for our little ghouls and medium for our bigger goblins)
- 2pm To-Go Crafts & Ghoul Goodies – grab and go spooky crafts to complete at your campsite
- 4pm Pumpkin Contest – front office
- Bring your carved or painted (your choice!) pumpkin to office by 4pm for registration
- People’s Choice Voting (ballots available at front office and must be turned in to the front desk by 9pm)
- 4pm Scarecrow Decorating Contest – front office
- Bring or build your scarecrow at the front office green space by 4pm for registration.
- People’s Choice (ballots available at the front desk and must be turned in to the front desk by 9pm)
- 5pm Costume Contest (Human & Pets) – Submit your Photo for Virtual Votes via SLRC Facebook page – [email protected] or text 231-221-2650

Gift Card’s are awarded for each contest: Costume, Pumpkin, and Scarecrow. Please see Contest Rules Below-
CONTEST RULES
Costume Contest
Submit your picture via text (231.221.2650) or email ([email protected]) by 5pm on Saturday.
Valid submissions MUST include:
– Contestant’s Name
– Category (please choose from ONE of the following: Babies/Toddlers 4 and under, Kids 5-12, Teens 13-17, Adult, Themed Group, OR Pet). Submissions without a category or for multiple categories will not be considered.**
– Site Number (Please note you must be staying with us during our Spooktacular weekend in order to compete in the contest)
Pictures will be posted by category on our SLRC Facebook page. Voting is open to the public.
Voting will run until Saturday at Midnight. Winners will be notified Sunday morning!
**Limit of one submission per person. For example, a pet can be in the pet category OR themed group, but not both.
Pumpkin Carving/Painting Contest
Bring your carved or painted pumpkin to the front office for check-in by 4pm.
Pumpkin will be registered by a front desk team member.
Ballots are given at check-in or available at the front desk, and must be turned in by 9pm on Saturday. Winners will be notified Sunday morning!
Pumpkins available for purchase for $5; quantities are limited so buy your pumpkin early!
Scarecrow Decorating Contest
Bring or build your scarecrow on site! All scarecrows must be registered by a front desk team member, and set up on the green space located north of the office doors.
All scarecrows must be ready no later than 4:00pm.
Ballots are given at check-in or available at the front desk, and must be turned in by 9pm on Saturday. Winners will be notified Sunday morning!
Please Note: Stakes for your scarecrow “body” will be set up in this area along our split rail fence, and hay will be available if needed. We do recommend other forms of stuffing such as newspaper, clothes, pillows, etc…as hay may be limited. Your scarecrow can be standing, sitting, laying, etc. Please no commercially made scarecrows, and family friendly ideas only.
