Fourth of July Activities
The 4th of July is big around Silver Lake—it’s our most popular summer weekend. So if you’re visiting us during this holiday, expect a ton of things to do for the whole family.
Below is a list of the weekend’s events, and of course, you’ll notice lots of fireworks! We have to tell you, there’s nothing like watching fireworks over a lake. Whether it’s a big and spectacular show over Lake Michigan or Silver Lake … or the cozy “Hart Sparks” show over quaint little Hart Lake. The colors, the reflections … it’s magic.
July 2nd – Hart Sparks
Hart Commons: Corner of State and E Main St, Hart
7pm – 9:30pm
Kick off the holiday weekend with “Hart Sparks”! This fireworks show and entertainment event attracts roughly 4,000 people annually and keeps growing bigger each year. Activities include live music from the Blue Rooster Band & the Rocket Fuel Haulers, a 25′ rock climbing wall, inflatable water slide, free painting station, corn hole tournament, food vendors, and more! The night of fun ends with the fireworks over Hart Lake.
July 3rd – Pentwater Fireworks
Charles Mears State Park
Fireworks overlooking Lake Michigan will be held in Pentwater, just a 20 minute drive north from Silver Lake. Pentwater is a small town with a lot of charm and features great places to shop and eat. Fireworks on the 3rd will be held at dusk.
July 4th at the Park – Kids Bicycle Parade
Calling all kids and parents! Show off your holiday spirit by decorating your bikes and wagons in all things red, white, and blue. This parade through the campground is a great way to see and be seen!
July 4th – Fireworks on the Dunes
Silver Lake Sand Dunes
Seeing the sparks and colors reflect over the dunes and Silver Lake will give you a fireworks display like you’ve never seen before. If you can only make it to one fireworks show this year, let it be this one! There are so many ways to enjoy: Rent a boat on Silver Lake, bring a blanket and walk up the dunes, or simply catch the view lakeside.
