There’s no shortage of things to do in the Silver Lake Sand Dunes area. From the dunes and beaches, to shopping and dining, you’ll be hard-pressed to feel bored while you’re in town! Spend a while perusing our many attractions and sites below. Just don’t waste too much time looking — there’s fun to be had!

Cedar Point
An afternoon well spent is an afternoon at Cedar Point Beach. This 3 acre stretch of beach plus park and picnic area is great for swimming, playing beach sports, and picnicking.
The park features picnic tables and restrooms. To get down to the beach, take the multi-tiered wooden steps through the forest canopy. A great secluded area for spending time at the lake.
Located along the shore of Lake Michigan between Silver Lake and Pentwater off B-15.

Colonial Golf Course
There’s fun for everyone at The Colonial, which features a championship 18 hole course and a 9 hole, par-3 course. There is also a huge driving range plus a bar and restaurant on site. Senior (over 55) rates are available Monday-Friday, and there are “after 2pm specials” every day as well as Wednesday golf/lunch specials.

Country Dairy
Country Dairy is a working farm, milking over a thousand cows, three times daily. They bottle milk from their cows and make cheese, cream, and butter. In addition to offering tours of the bottling facility, show barn, and Moo School, there is also a farm store and deli, where you can have breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Finally, don’t forget dessert at Country Dairy—their 22 flavors of hand-dipped ice cream are some of the best in the region.

Craig’s Cruisers Family Fun Center
Craig’s Cruisers now has three locations throughout Michigan, but the Silver Lake Sand Dunes is where it all began! At this amazing fun park, you’ll find go-karts, sprint karts, kiddie karts, a large game room, Mini-Golf Island, and bumper boats!

Golden Sands Golf Course
Golden Sands Golf Course is just two miles away from the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Heading out for a round here is a great addition to any family vacation and an excellent way to bring everyone together for some wholesome fun. The Golden Sands welcomes all types of golfers who just want to have fun.

Golden Township Park
A small parking lot is the only thing that holds this beach back from being the number one beach in the Silver Lake area. Visitors may notice that this stretch of beach seems to change each year due to the Silver Creek Channel that flows through it to Lake Michigan.
This warm water channel is actually what makes this beach perfect for families—young kids love the channel while older kids and adults are attracted to the Big Lake. Walkers will also have easy access to Little Sable Point Lighthouse on this beach.
Located off Silver Lake Road 1/4 mile north of the Lighthouse.

Happy Mohawk Canoe Livery
The Happy Mohawk Canoe Livery rents canoes, kayaks, rafts, and tubes so that you can enjoy a river trip in the Manistee National Forest any way you want. Located on the White River and designated "Country Scenic" by the State of Michigan, this is one of the best canoe rental establishments in the area.

Hart-Montague Trail
The Hart-Montague “Rail Trail” is the perfect place to bike, walk, or run. Spanning 22 miles along the beautiful orchards, fields, and rolling hills of West Michigan, this is a great way to get some exercise and spend time with your family. Pick up the trail in nearby Mears to head northeast toward Hart, or go south toward Shelby, New Era, and Montague/Whitehall.

Historic White Pine Village
Historic White Pine Village is an historic village of over twenty-five buildings and sites. This remarkable location opened in 1976 and is still dedicated today to preserving Mason County's past and sharing it with visitors.

La Fiesta prepares and serves the best and most authentic Mexican cuisine in the area. Join them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or come anytime in between! Conveniently located in downtown Hart.

Little Sable Point Lighthouse Beach
Whether you come during the day for laying out and swimming or in the evening for the best sunset location in the county, you won't be disappointed with this beach. As you lay in the sand or play in the waves, you’ll see the beautiful, red brick lighthouse built in the late 1870s on the shore. If you go at the right time, tours of the lighthouse are also available.
At this beach, there is a large parking area, and restroom facilities are nearby. Note: The walk out to the water from the parking lot involves some dune crossing and climbing.
Located 1/2 mile south of Golden Township Park.

MacWoods Dune Rides
When in Silver Lake, taking a Mac Wood’s Dune Ride is a right of passage. Since 1930, these rides have thrilled visitors by taking them on safe, fun-filled tours that last about 40 minutes each. Tours are hosted by skilled and knowledgeable drivers who understand the history of the area and environment. See the best views on the dunes and maybe even learn something!

Michigan’s Adventure
Michigan’s Adventure is the largest amusement and water park in Michigan. It features over 60 rides and attractions in the main park and more than 20 water slides plus 3 wave pools in the water park. There are plenty of games, booths, and other attractions as well, making it fun for all ages.

Oceana Golf Course
Put your short game to the test on Oceana County's original 18 hole public golf course. Since 1962, Oceana Golf Club has been known for having the best greens in the area. The overall length—6288 from the back tees—is deceiving, so watch out! But the real challenge will be how to play our small, quick, smooth rolling greens.

This is the perfect option for experiencing the dunes when you’d rather not go through obtaining the necessary documents for your own vehicle.

Silver Lake Sand Dunes ORV Area Beach
You'll need an ORV to get to this beach, but you'll be glad you came. You can either get own vehicle “Dune Ready” and head out on your own or rent an ORV from one of the many rental establishments in the area.
As you cross the beautiful rolling hills of the sand dunes, you’ll soon see the stunning vista of Lake Michigan spread before you. Head down to the beach at your leisure and spend as much time as you can allow taking in this beautiful area. You’ll likely see a long line of ORVs there, which may remind you a bit of Daytona Beach (though there is no driving allowed directly on the beach).
Access to this beach is from the ORV dune entrance area off 24th Ave. at Silver Lake.
